1. Zero Data Collection & Transmission

ScanExtension does not collect, track, store, or transmit any user data, personal information, browsing history, keystrokes, or account credentials. All operations are executed 100% locally within your web browser session.

2. Local Processing of Book Content & Screenshots

When you initiate a scan:

• Screenshots and visible text layout information are processed ephemerally in your browser's local memory.
• The assembled PDF document is compiled directly on your computer and saved straight to your local Downloads directory.
• No screenshots, text extracts, or documents are ever uploaded to any external server or third-party service.

3. Permissions Justification

• activeTab / tabs: Used solely to capture the visible viewport of the active document tab when triggered by the user.
• scripting: Used to automate page flipping and compile PDF documents locally inside the active browser session.
• storage: Used strictly to remember your local preferences (such as scan delay and target page limits) across sessions on your device.
• downloads: Used solely to prompt your browser to save the finished PDF file to your local computer.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): Necessary because educational portals and digital readers reside across dynamic web domains.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user information with any third parties or advertising networks.
